When you first unbox your Trezor hardware wallet, you'll find the device itself, a USB cable, a recovery seed card, and some stickers. Begin by connecting your Trezor to your computer using the USB cable. Navigate to the Trezor website (trezor.io/start) and follow the on-screen instructions to install the Trezor Bridge, which is necessary for the device to communicate with your computer. Once installed, the Trezor web interface will guide you through the firmware installation process. This ensures your device is up-to-date with the latest security features. After the firmware is installed, you'll be prompted to create a new wallet. During this process, you will generate a recovery seed—a list of 24 words that serve as a backup to recover your wallet if your Trezor is lost or damaged. Write down these words on the recovery seed card provided and store it in a secure location. Do not store it digitally or share it with anyone. After confirming the recovery seed, you'll set up a PIN to protect your device. The PIN adds an additional layer of security, preventing unauthorized access to your wallet. With the setup complete, you can now start using your Trezor to store, send, and receive cryptocurrencies securely. Always remember to double-check addresses and keep your recovery seed safe.
